The AGM will follow this year’s guest speaker, Andrew Tokley QC, who will present on the role of Counsel Assisting in the Royal Commission into National Natural Disasters - some reflections
Rule 4 of the AIAL Chapter ByLaws provides that the Committee are to be elected at each annual general meeting (sic).1.Call for Nominations
Nominations are therefore sought for the following positions:
Committee Members (up to 6 positions).
Nominees must be current, financial members of the AIAL.Please forward nominations by email to email@example.com.To be valid the nomination must be in writing, specify the office to which the nomination relates and be signed by a proposer, a seconder and the nominee (all of whom should be members of the SA Chapter).For convenience, email nominations will be accepted without physical signatures provide the proposer and seconder are identified.Nominations for re-election of current Committee members will be accepted without proposers and seconders.
Please consider when nominating that the Committee expects all its members to actively contribute to Chapter activities, including regular attendance at monthly meetings.
Rule 24(1) of the ByLaws provides that a member may give to the Secretary, not less than 7 days before the date fixed for the annual general meeting, written notice of a motion that the member intends to move at that meeting. Proposed motions should be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by no later than 23 November 2020.Back to Events
